Paul Sunu has served as FairPoint's chief executive officer since August 2010. Prior to this he served as chief financial officer (CFO) of Hargray Communications Group, Inc. from 2008 until 2010 and of Hawaiian Telcom from 2007 to 2008. He was managing director and CFO of Madison River Communications from 1996 to 2007, where he was also a founder.

After commencing his career with Arthur Young & Company in Chicago, Mr. Sunu spent almost two decades at tax, investment and management consulting firms. He currently serves on the FairPoint Communications board of directors and is chairman of Integra Telecom.

Mr. Sunu holds a juris doctorate degree from the University of Illinois - College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Illinois.

Ajay Sabherwal joined FairPoint in July 2010 and is responsible for the company's financial reporting and control, treasury and investor relations. He came to FairPoint from Aventine Renewable Energy and Mendel Biotechnology where he served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Prior to this he was with Choice One Communications in Rochester, New York, having been appointed CFO in 1999.

Sabherwal began his telecommunications career in 1989 in Canada with CNCP Telecommunications (predecessor of AT&T Canada) where he was a senior manager of business planning. In the 1990s he was a leading Canadian telecommunications equity analyst with Deacon Barclays deZoete Wedd and then Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.

He holds a master's degree in business administration from Manchester Business School in Manchester, UK . He also earned a master's degree in economics and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science in India.

Peter Nixon directs FairPoint's regulatory, governmental affairs and public relations activities. He is also responsible for economic development, compensation and benefits, supply chain and risk management across the company.

Nixon began his career with Chautauqua and Erie Telephone Corporation (C&E) in 1978. When FairPoint acquired C&E in July 1997, Nixon was named president of C&E. Since 1999, he has served FairPoint in positions of increasing responsibility including president of FairPoint's eastern region, chief operating officer and then president of the Telecom Group and senior vice president of corporate development, where he was responsible for acquisitions and new revenue opportunities.

Nixon is a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He is a past chairman of the New York State Telecommunications Association.

Kenneth Amburn is responsible for overseeing operations, network planning and engineering, and attaining the company's capital expenditures, service quality and business objectives.

Mr. Amburn has been an executive in the telecommunications industry for over 42 years, with extensive experience managing many areas of regulated and competitive telecommunication companies including integration of existing and acquired properties. Prior to joining FairPoint in 2010 he served as chief operating officer at Madison River Communications where he developed and implemented the integration plans for the acquisition of properties in Illinois, Alabama and Georgia.

During Amburn's career he has held positions as executive vice president of network construction services, vice president at Centel in North Carolina, Nevada and Texas and then vice president Sprint/Centel - Texas Region, after the Centel merger with Sprint. He also worked at Citizens Utilities where, as vice president/East Region, he oversaw the successful integration of properties acquired from GTE in West Virginia, New York and Tennessee.

Rose Hauser joined FairPoint in August 2011 and is responsible for defining and executing information technology initiatives across the company to meet the needs of the business including operations, software development and delivery and strategy for the information technology and internal business solutions departments. She is an information technology and telecommunications professional with more than 20 years of experience; and previously served as SVP and CIO for Hawaiian Telecom. Hauser has also held executive positions at Freddie Mac, MCI, XO Communications and Bell Atlantic. She began her career at Wang Laboratories, Inc.

Hauser earned a master’s degree in finance and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Shirley Linn is responsible for managing FairPoint's legal matters including contracts, securities law compliance, employment issues and acquisitions. She joined the company in October 2000. Before that she was a partner with the Charlotte law firm of Underwood Kinsey Warren & Tucker, P.A., where she specialized in general business matters, particularly mergers and acquisitions.

Ms. Linn began her legal career in New York City. As outside counsel she represented FairPoint in ten of its phone company acquisitions.

Greg Castle is responsible for defining, developing, implementing, and managing strategic human resources initiatives for FairPoint Communications.

He has had over 25 years of experience managing employee and labor relations at small, medium-sized and Fortune 500 companies. He joined FairPoint from Castle & Associates in 2011 where he had served as president since 2004; during which time his clients included U.S. Cellular, R.H. Donnelley, The Carlyle Group and McKinsey and Co. Castle's past experience includes positions as senior vice president, corporate human resources at Orius Corporation; vice president, human resources at Exelon Corporation and vice president, corporate labor relations at Ameritech Corporation.

Mr. Castle holds a Ph.D. and a master's degree from Northwestern University in educational management, human resources and industrial relations. Castle also holds a juris doctorate with concentrations in employment law, human resources and labor relations from Loyola University School of Law and earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Western Illinois University. He is a licensed attorney concentrating on employment law, human resources and labor relations, and is a certified Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR).

Edward Horowitz is the chairman of Edslink LLC, a New York City based venture capital firm, which he founded in 2000. Mr. Horowitz also served as president and chief executive officer of SES–Americom, a communications satellite operator, and as a member of the executive committee of its parent company, SES (SESG, Lux.) from 2005 to 2008.

Before founding EdsLink LLC, Mr. Horowitz was executive vice president of advanced development at Citigroup from 1997 through 2000 and founder and chairman of e-Citi. Prior to joining Citigroup, Mr. Horowitz was a senior vice president of Viacom Inc.

Mr. Horowitz serves as a director of On Line Resources Corporation, the Kenan Institute of Ethics at Duke University and is a trustee of the New York Hall of Science. He received a B.S. degree in physics from the City College of New York and a master's in business from the Columbia University School of Business.

Todd Arden joined Angelo, Gordon & Co. in 2000, and is currently a managing director in its distressed securities group. Prior to joining Angelo, Gordon, Mr. Arden served as a portfolio manager/analyst within AIG SunAmerica Inc.'s high yield group from 1998 to 2000. Previously, he was a senior equity analyst at Troubh Partners. He began his career as a manager in Arthur Andersen LLP's financial consulting services practice.

Mr. Arden is a chartered financial analyst and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University and a Masters of Business Administration from the Columbia University School of Business.

Dennis Austin has served as an independent telecommunications consultant since 2002. He previously served as a consultant at BearingPoint, formerly KPMG Consulting, from 1995 to 2002, and as vice president at San Francisco Consulting Group (SFCG) from 1985 to 1995. Prior to joining SFCG, Mr. Austin was vice president of engineering with Dataspeed Inc. and director of switch engineering, network planning and design at GTE Sprint. Prior to joining GTE Sprint, Mr. Austin served as a member of the technical staff with Bell Telephone Laboratories.

Mr. Austin holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University.

Michael Mahoney previously served as president and chief executive officer of Commonwealth Telephone Enterprises, Inc. from 2000 to 2007. Prior to joining Commonwealth Telephone, Mr. Mahoney served as president and chief operating officer of RCN Corporation from 1997 to 2000 and as president and chief operating officer of C-TEC Corporation from 1993 to 1997.

Mr. Mahoney currently serves as a director of Level 3 Communications and as a trustee of Wilkes University. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Villanova University.

Michael Robinson has served as president and chief executive officer of Broadview Networks since 2005 and as a director since 2009. Mr. Robinson previously served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of US LEC (which is now part of PAETEC) from 1998 to 2005. Prior to 1998, Mr. Robinson spent 10 years as an executive at Alcatel (now Alcatel Lucent).

Mr. Robinson received a bachelor's degree in business and economics from Emory & Henry College and a Masters of Business Administration from Wake Forest University.

Paul Sunu has served as chief executive officer of FairPoint Communications Inc. since August 2010, prior to which he was chief financial officer of Hargray Communications Group, Inc., a position he had held since 2008. Mr. Sunu was chief financial officer of Hawaiian Telcom from 2007 to 2008 and a managing director and chief financial officer of Madison River Communications from 1996 to 2007.

He currently serves as chairman of Integra Telecom, is a former board member of Merscom, Madison River Communications Corp., Centennial Communications Corp., Hawaii Public Radio, the Honolulu Chamber of Commerce and the Love School of Business at Elon University. Mr. Sunu also served as an adjunct professor of business at Elon University in 2007. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in public administration from the University of Illinois and a J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law.

David Treadwell has served as president and chief executive officer of EP Management Corporation, formerly known as EaglePicher Corporation, since 2006. Treadwell was EaglePicher Incorporated's chief operating officer from 2005 to 2006 and served as chief executive officer of Oxford Automotive through its restructuring in 2004 to 2005.

Mr. Treadwell currently serves as lead director of Flagstar Bank and chairman of the board of C&D Technologies. He received a B.B.A. degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Wayne Wilson, a New Hampshire resident, has been an independent business advisor since 2002. From 1995 to 2002, Mr. Wilson served in various roles as president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of PC Connection, Inc., a Fortune 1000 direct marketer of information technology products and services. From 1986 to 1995, Mr. Wilson was a partner in the assurance and advisory services practice of Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Mr. Wilson currently serves as a director of ARIAD Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Edgewater Technology, Inc. and Hologic, Inc. He previously served as a director of Cytyc Corporation. Mr. Wilson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Duke University, and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a certified public accountant in New Hampshire and North Carolina.
